This work’s starting point was the image of a sunny side up fried egg, the name derived from the yolk’s resemblance to the sun.
It is quite an intuitive expression since it literally refers to the yellow side being on top. I wanted to take this simple metaphor and make it into an inevitable outcome. The nothing-new-inevitability of the round yellow rising ‘up’.
Using the same layer, but with different colours, I tried to create a scenery. A scenery in which ‘bright sunny side’ and ‘black darkness’ coexist.
