I had produced a sticker with several circles aligned, originally intended for a different work. After all the circles were removed however, I came to notice the shape formed when four circles meet by the border; which looked like a ‘light’. With that, I cut light-shaped holes into dark coloured paper and placed the ‘leftover’ sticker on it. By cutting the holes, I wanted to take into account the colour of the sky of which one can see through the light-shaped holes. As the sunlight fades away, the darkened sky blocks the holes, thus ‘dimming the light’.

나는 오로지 마지막의 그 몇 초를 위해 에릭 로메르의 <녹색 광선(Le Rayon Vert, 1986)>을 본다. 애매하게 비관적인 델핀이 희미한 희망을 품고 찾아 나선 녹색의 섬광이 팟-하는 그 순간 말이다. 사실 다른 모든 것은 아무래도 좋다. ‘잠깐’이라 칭하는 것도 너무 긴 듯한 그 한 톨에 나는 언제나 순식간에 반가워하고 잠시나마 안심한 후에는 어김없이 실망한다. 그러고는 다시금 기다린다.
